Natural Gas > An Overview
Demand & Supply of Natural Gas
The demand for Natural Gas is increasing at a rate
which cannot be fulfilled by domestic production, as there is a
large gap between the demand and supply. In 2002, the supply of Natural Gas was 72 MMSCMD and demand, 151 MMSCMD,
whereas in 2007, this gap is projected to get widened, as the
supply will remain constant and demand is expected to increase further
to 231 MMSCMD. Further in 2012, the demand is projected
at 319 MMSCMD, leaving a large gap between demand and supply.
